 I took advantage of the fact that the leaves are already turning brown here. This particular leaf had a sort of "suede" look which I love.
For soft focus I tried cellophane which worked but the look wasn't soft enough. Then added a touch of gaussian blur (for the first time ;-) It's so difficult striving for soft focus, it's the ones thing you normally try to avoid like the plague ;-)
Looking forward to seeing the other challenge entries.

This is a very nice photo! Love the tones of the shot itself but the frame seriously takes away from the overall composition.

Don't care for the border. An image should be able to stand on its own without one. I think this would have been good.

Beautiful image, however, not a fan of the border colors- they are distracting because they are a bit too bright and take away from the dramatic image. perhaps a darker blue/navy would be more effective? or no border:) 8.

I like the leaf and the complementary blue background, but the blue border is too distracting and takes away from the softness of the image.
