I'm fortunate enough to be living near the sea so the subject of rope immediately led to me to the nearest harbour, at Watchet. I took a number of shots of nautical type rope and had a hard choice choosing between two of them. In the end I went for this one because I liked the limited colour range and also because rope attached to life savers is probably the most important rope there is.
Shot in RAW, converted using Olympus Master. Cropped slightly to bring full attention to the rope, levels, curves and Smart Sharpen. Resized and added stroke border.
