John, this is one of the most striking shots of Delicate Arch I've seen. Looks like the Utah boys are taking over. Well done!

great dramatric angle. what made you choose the B/W over color?

Congratulations on the 6th place. Very nice shot!

I love the arches; the desert environment is one of my favorite places to visit. You did a fabulous job capturing the delicate arch from a different perspective.

Congrats my friend, your first seven, long overdue, and this is one amazing photo!

Congrats on top 10, John; this point of view is stunning. I like how you've taken a completely new approach to a classic subject. I've seen dozens upon dozens of photos of the arch and this one is truly unique and stands out amongst the group. Beautiful sky and B/W toning, though I'd also be interested in seeing the color version.

Nice choice of perspective - different from your classic postcard arch. Sometimes I choose b/w conversion when I can't get the best out of the colors... so I can't blindly recommend the color version, but I can say that I would like to see it in color too. 9.

The angle makes this a very dynamic image. Very nice contrast. It works well with the choice of black and white.

Great perspective. Nice sky. I think I might like this better in color...I am thinking that maybe the coloration of the rock is a reddish-orange. If so, it would look great against a brilliant blue sky.

I see the sky was your friend that day! I love this and adding to favs. 10!

Great angle you took this from!

Definitely not a typical photo of this venerable landmark! The unusual viewpoint is enhanced by the interesting clouds. And black and white forces viewers to ignore the beautiful colors and pay attention to the textural details. Great focus throughout. Wonderful!

Awesome angle. Usually people shoot this straight on. Great job.

Brave choice to convert it to BW, I suspect the original colors were quite striking. Extra points for that!

Nice contrast here. Best black and white I have seen on this challenge. Well done (8)

Wow! Ansel Adams has NOTHING on this photo! What a striking angle, and the black and white is just perfect for this. We see so many of these arch photos in those beautiful, rich reds, but this stands out even more!

A creative viewpoint and good composition. The exposur looks precise because the scene and the lighting conditions look like it's easy to over or underexpose. I really like how you have managed to avoid overexposing the sky while keeping detail in the shadows. Brilliant work -10
