In my opinion, there are a couple things that are distracting in this image.
First, the crop. It seems that you have shaved off a little too much on the left of the image where the front bumper is. This adds a certain distracting element when viewing the photo.
Second, the top portion of the background showing the dirt and a shovel?? and something else white (not sure what all those items are) are very distracting. The track wraps around nicely but at the end of it you find the distracting items that don't add anything to the image.
Maybe a change in crop, maybe a little tighter and allow for a little more space in the front.
I really liked the colors, the exposure turned out nice. The focus is nice and clean and the fire from the exhaust is a good capture!
A new PB...well done Scott, I agree with Enzo, would like to have seen a bit more motion blur, but otherwise a great shot that appeals to even us non petrol heads:)
Great shot that I think deserved to finish higher...I am sure you hoped it would as well...boo to the voters that can't see the sleekness of a Holden in action...well done
Great clarity, control of the natural light is good. Certainly meets the challenge. I think technically its a great image, the subject doesn't draw me in however. I gave a 6
A nice change from the black-background shots. Very dynamic, good colors and lighting.. makes me wish I had been there! (And I'm not a racing fan, so that says a lot about what I think of this shot)
Oooh, that's never good... This is a nice break from the monotony of matches and disembodied flames. I might clone out the white bucket and items around it in the upper left.
superb timing, and brilliantly captured; the nature of the sponsor just makes this even more perfect. only slight thing is that i wish it were a bit more centred, but it's just me reaching for anything to criticise; really it's a great shot, perfect for the challenge and 10 times better than anything i could do. 10.
Holden Commodores Rule! Excellent action shot...perhaps a slower shutter speed would have given a nice motion blure to take out the background, but nice capture anyway
