NIce work, Mag! I'd still like a little more room for the bird in your frame, but what a fantastic capture! That's patience showing what it can do!

absolutely gorgeous shot--besides the great capture of the heron, my favorite thing about this pic is the glassiness of the water--reminds me of rippling mercury.

Very nice timing! Most times, these guys fly away long before you get near. Great catch!

Great depth of field. The reflections in the water really make the bird pop out of the scene. Congratulations on the 3rd place ribbon.

Superb - what else can one say - the picture is a winner all round. It really belongs in the Bird challenge, but we'll draw a veil over that! Congratulations - you get my highest vote.

Striking. I wish the whole bird was in focus, but isn't that important. I like the composition and the overall effect of this photo.

Detail of the feathers is just wonderful....great lens. I think the branch to the left is a distraction but I see you had to leave it in. Nice shot.

The wisps of white and silver on the water are tantalizing. Nice dynamic subject to put on top of it.

Great Capture of Great Heron. Not much you can do about these things in spontaneous captures but the greenery in bottom left and the stuff in the water mid-right are a distraction.
