I entered this for the Life challenge. What I don't believe anyone noticed was this was *Check*. Someone on the silver team was going to be sacrificed for the king. The Knight had all the power -- but no one saw that. I thought that would have impact. No one thought about it...

Made me think of some old geezer in a movie saying "Son, life is like a game of chess, gotta play it well and make the right moves, or else you will end up loosing" ;-)
Maybe having all pieces in focus would improve the shot?
An interesting interpretation of life... nicely captured shot. The extreme tones have been captured well although I wonder if the curves could have been adjusted to bring out a tad more detail in the knight. Great lighting, very moody and atmospheric. The composition works very well here. I like the graininess of the picture. I really can't stand that drop-shadow border though, totally unnecessary. 9
