I don't like the title but love the shot. The title implies that you have to choose between the flag and the church and I don't see that to be the case. DOF is good but focus is a touch (take your pick) sharp or soft for moods I would try to read into this shot.
I like the concept... a direct representation of a quote from the constitution. But nothing in the photograph is level (true horizontal/vertical) and it looks crooked. I think the best correction for this would have been to straighten the US flag - I think it's off by <5 degrees, but the way the eye views the photo, something has to be straight in it.
Interesting composition. The tower is really competing with the flag. What are we suppose to focus in on. Tower or Flag. The picture seem to have a yellow hue. Using a polarising filter may help.
