Really nice lighting! I gave this a 6, but see now that I should've spent more time studying this (sorry about the 6 - wish I had left an 8 now). The detail is wonderful, and you've got the whole tonal scale from black to white in there adding to the complexity. I like the background, too. Only thing that might have made this catch my eye in a stronger way is if there were a bit more empty space to the left. The crop off on the right works for me.
This is absolutely beautiful. You have captured leaves in a way I never would have thought to catch them. I also like the use of dead space in this image.
I don't feel the Zen from this image. If I were to just see this picture and not know the challenge was zen I probably would not have guessed. I think that is because of the darkness that the image. It actually speaks sadness, decay and age or end of life to me...IMO 6
