Some weeds growing in an empty lot by my house. Morning light. I looked thru the gold challenge right before I uploaded this to see if anything there was to much like this. There were a couple. :(
Anyway. I'm pretty glad to be entering this. I decided to take this as soon as I saw what the challenge was.
Cropped. Mirrored. vp transparency with med warm filter and a wash. partly cloned two small 4x4 pixel areas of light, ran thru vp again to increase contrast. Upped green sat.

Wonderful use of EVERYTHING! Rule of thirds, composition, backlighting, and depth of field. You have brought me into this image, so I'm adding it to my favorites.
It is not for everyone to be able to see beauty in simple things ..forget about capturing it in camera. This is simply beautiful. I love the highlights due to backlighting without losing any details on the subject. It is truly zen to see the darkness in background getting more visible due to dash of light in foreground. Lovely image. I can sense zen with portions of the subject though the vegetation at the bottom seems irrelevant and not needed for the photo. I love the use of light here, its wonderful. I think the focus looks very good as well. Were it my preference I would've cropped the image right above where that orangey hued one was, I've scrolled the screen to block that out and to me the resulting photo seems to emphasize not only the play of light but also that one stem that's reaching out further than the others into the semi-darkness. Great photo. I gave a 6
