 This is Mayon Volcano of Albay, Philippines. Last eruption was in 2001. The most destructive one was in 1814. The whole town of Cagsaua was burried by rocks and lava. The only part left was the bell tower of the church which was the highest structure then.

I was there this time, lava silently flowing again.

i tried several timed exposures. adjusted levels and curves. NI to remove noise.

I think this is a great photo. If I were to look at this however without a challenge attached to it I would never guess zen was what you had in mind.

When I look at this shot I see and feel, power, pressure, and turbulence. 6
