This is my beautiful black dog. She is horrible for sitting still, she always wants to lick the camera. I just did a basic crop on this picture and increased the light intensity to make the wall more white.

The flash makes the non-black-and-white eyes glow, gives strong ugly shadow on the wall and brings out the door in the background. Bottom line -- don't use the flash.
Beautiful dog. The flash was a little over the top for me and the "Eye Shine" was distracting. Perhaps an alternate lighting method would have been better. Emma looks as though she has a few years on her, but I am a sucker for dogs.
