Here's my first submission - I don't expect to ribbon, or finish in the Top 40, but rather get a feel of the voters.
I was contimplating whether this should go in the "B&W in Color" or this challenge - but decided since her eyes have color, she's not a completely B&W subject.
Didn't realize till I was processing the image that I shot at 400 ISO - I'll remember to check my settings next time. The picture is of our 1.5 year old Black Lab/Uknown mix.

I like this very, very much. Gives the dog a very mysterious and dignified look. Enough details stand out that I'm not visually confused by, but instead am intrigued by, the blending of subject and background.
I came so close to doing a shot like this with my dog on a black background. Very well executed, I like the merging with the background. His/her eyes are freaking me out though. 8
