for the record, this scene was behind a locked gate along a main route... which was frustrating. this site has been open for years.
i had to slide my lens between a hole in the fence and I couldn't control the grasses; and there wasn't much wind to change the direction. but i like what came out of it.

I'm glad you couldn't control the grasses, the gold in the grass really brings out the gold on the building, and they make the building look less contrived. Lovely shot.
Seems so out of place, almost apocalyptic in a way.
I do like the grass/wheat blowing across the frame the way it is.
The Gold of the field and the sprires on the church are a nice balance.
nice job...I drive by this church all the time...have thought of shooting it, really like what you have donw..the hay/gold on the building really pick one another up well...
congrats on the top 20!
This is wonderful. The yellow wheat and golden steeple really bring this image together, and the clouds are magnificent. In my personal opinion, I would have moved the picture so that the church was being framed by the wheat.
Knew it was Cathedral town ;-) Really nice shot, knowing the site i know you would have got a much more impressive shot from inside the gate... Nice job, and congrats on the placing!
I like the structure - nice architecture and the gold tops fit it into the challenge. The foreground weeds however are distracting - I would suggest a reshoot with them pulled out of the way
Beautiful shot. I think the one tall stalk that comes up through the house could have been taken out. However It does not lower the score for me. I really like it. 10
haha, Cathedral Town outside of Toronto? I wanted to stop and take a look around last time i was up at fletchers fields, but didn't have the time or the energy. If It's not, it looks AMAZINGLY like it! lol, kinda sticks out in the middle of nowhere eh?
Very very nice - My only small and personal distraction is the road on the left - If you had just dropped down a fraction more it would have gone - But lovely composition
Great comopozition and nicely fits for the challeenge. Also like that golden coupols on grey sky. Two remarks...personaly i find that grass on church distracting and maybe also the closest lamp. Anyway pretty good.
Wow! Stunning! I think the two wheat stalks are a little in the way. I'm sure you made it that way on purpose. This is just my personal preference. It is one of my favorites from this challenge!
Those gold tops look very cool against that dark sky. The foreground grass almost gets to be too much though, it starts to make this very good photo a little busy.
