 A piece of iron pyrite ("Fool's Gold") which my son had lying around.

-Handheld, sunlight, super-macro mode
-Cropped to square
-RGB Curve
-Blue/Yellow Curve
-Resize for DPC
-USM @ 12%/48 dia/TH = 0
-USM @ 66%/0.6 dia/TH = 5
-SaveAs JPEG at quality 7/10 = 150kb

The brightness and contrast levels are off. I'd decrease brightness by -10 and increase contrast by +10. I'd also use the burn tool and darken the wood up giving it a little more character. The title fits well to the photo and the tilt of the photo is pleasing and subtle. Good luck in this challenge. <6>
