This is essentialy a reshoot of my first ribbon entry, "The splash of an apple", I know, I know, it´s a horrible cliche and there is absolutely NOTHING original in this shot, I am just mainly doing this to try and improve my score in week 3 of the WPL2. I still like these images even though they are not original. I only ever shoot them for DPC challenges and I have now a nice collection of them, think I have enough for putting up a series of them in our kitchen.
It is also taken at my friend Hjaltis house but this time in just a 30 litre fishtank as the other one, the big one is now full with a fishes and plants.
Did a LOT of photoshop work on this one, the biggest thing was the backround wich didn´t come out well at all. The cloth I used was yellow but due to difference in lighting on them and the lemon, it came out as it was orange so I did a hue shift on it to be yellow again. Then I thought it too busy so I used lens blur to blur it out a little, burned it also to make it darker than the lemon and finally used healing brush to remove two bright spots in the backround that were too distracting for my taste. Flipped the image horizontally as I thought it looked cooler that way and finally did curves adjustment along with sharpening after resizing.
Lighting is two flashes, a 580ex from the front/right and a 550ex from the left triggered with a transmitter.

These shots are appealing on many levels. It gives the viewer a splash of virtual refreshment, and who doesnt like crystal clear water? Exceedingly well shot. Congrats on the high finish.
The quality of this image is nothing short of breath-taking... I am truly envious of both your camera, and the skill required to orchestrate such an image.
