Since I don't have nice studio lights I was using a desk lamp and my wife's vanity mirror for this. I set up my usual frosted glass table-top propped above 4 boxes of pasta (the wife's away, this is apparently how I play). The desk lamp is under the glass illuminatng the beer while the .... No ... i thin k the desk lamp is ... I can't remember. Anyway: PP involved making the bottom of the glass dark (I realize this was a little messy and perhaps less than convincing. the glass needed some cleaning up as well as the background. I'm hoping there aren't too many beer shot in this challenge - i'm thinking there will be ... er={}

Tate,
Thanks for you comment on my on the beach entry and I thought I would return the comment. This is a cool image for gold and makes me want beer. To me it appears that alot of the highlights in the glass appear blown out specifically in the rim of the glass. I think the composition is great but could see how many people may find it distracting. If I had voted I would have given it a 6, higher if all highlights were there. Thanks again for your comment.

it's a very good (but badly poured!) action shot - though if this were served in a pub i'd send it back! but this is dynamically interesting and has a lot going on without detracting from the main subject. i love the background, the nice very clean reflective surface. the lighting is great, and it's making me thirsty. 10.
Nice idea. Like the concept very much. My only comment is that I find the background a bit distracting. Not sure what it is. Otherwise, this makes me want to reach for a cold one.
