These are the remains of the West Pier in Brighton, UK, after it was burned down recently. It is haunting to think this was once a concert hall in the 1900s attended by all!

I share your nostalgia with this. I would have thought that an off-centre arrangement may have suited this better, showing more of the pier's length. The image is very soft too and may have benefited from some treatment with USM and levels.
