This was taken at Lawrencetown Beach, Lawrencetown, NS, Canada (about 20km from Halifax). I was just walking along the beach with a friend of mine. Then I spotted these rocks of a different colour and liked the contrast between the sky and the foreground. It goes from a nice pallete of warm colours to colder tones of the sky.

Great job! I'm giving this one a 7, as I loved the movement and colors in the sky, and because of the clarity in the water left after the waves went back out. I loved the clarity and moistness of the stones in the foreground. I am not so crazy about the forced feeling of the white streaks just behind the stones, or I'd have rated this higher. Overall, you met the challenge with great creativity and technical merit.
Soft and pastel colours for a sense of relaxation. Good DoF with the foreground interest and the receding tide lines leading the eye to the rest of the image. Nicely done!
This is a dramatic beach. I like how the streaks in the sand/ water echo the clouds. You also have blue balancing the top of the picture with the bottom. Excellent job!
The movement in the water gives this image a surreal feel to it. The colors complement each other very well and the rocks provide a solid focal point to the composition.
very nice...beautiful foreground...I wonder why you went with a portrait orientation though, as the sky, to me, doesn't really add much, and in fact may detract...from what I can see, there's very interesting texture in the sand there, gorgeous rocks, and of course a great flowing water pattern...the sky isn't needed, IMO...you're still getting a 7 though :)
