A quiet cove on Grand Manan island, New Brunswick, Canada (very close to Maine). This is a beautiful scenic island of cliffs, rocky beaches, forests, and fishing villages about 15 miles off the coast. Lighthouse and car-ferry in the background. The islanders have traditionally lived from the sea, going out in small boats like this. The contrast of modern ferry versus wooden dory is interesting.

Wonderful colour mixing, blue and yellow = green. Old dory, huge modern ferry. I like it. It gets my vote!

Great composition. The colors are wonderful -- the blue of the water, the green of the gunnel are striking. I wish there were more light to show off the color (yellow?) of the boat. I'm having a hard time seeing the "Nostalgia" in this image, but I'm betting that is just because of a cultural barrier -- I'm going to just rate the picture as if it IS somehow nostalgic. I give it a 9 -- it would be a 10 if I could see the boat a bit better.

Very good, I like the method of seeing the future off in the distance while stuck in the past. A lot is being said in this and you pull it off nicely.
