Feck - according to Irish Slang feck means to take or steal. This tree's life was stolen for no apparent reason and has been left there to rot.

This doesn't do much for me, unfortunately. My reasons for saying this include that the reddish dirt where my eye is drawn is kind of out of focus, and the sawed-off part of the tree is a little glary. Also, all the brush that is in pretty sharp focus is distracting and makes me a little confused by the subject at first glance. It might be nice to try this with a larger apeture (smaller number) to get the twigs in the background more out of focus compared to the tree stump. The idea is okay, though and I think the title is clever.
You got my attention, and I want so bad for this photo to make a statement. However, the flat neutral colors are only going to draw in your sentimentalists <---if that is even a word. Agreeable people within the context of the photo.
Meets the challenge. A bit uninteresting as presented, thogh the bits of green add a spark. This would probably have more impact if shown in context - is the ground being cleared to build something?
