what I like:
Great depth of field. The color and the softness of the wings is wonderful. very interesting subject. Bonus for having him sit on a lens ;)
what I don't like:
It seems a little dark overall. I understand a shot like this is hard to light but I would have liked the eye a little brighter to really bring out the spots. The blur below it is a little distracting.
Seems like this may have been a luck of the moment kinds of shots. Nice catch.
I like your idea though I wish it's body and wings were also in focus, background is distracting too, nice capture though, must have taken some time and careful effort
