-Super-Macro mode, handheld
-Tungsten WB
-Slight RGB Curve adjustment
-Burned-in submadibular highlights a bit
-Cloned-out stray fiber and some tiny nicks
-Resize for DPC
-USM at 12%/48 dia/TH = 0
-USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH = 5
-USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH = 5 (second application)
-SaveAs JPEG at quality 9/10 = 142kb

The shallow DOF was chosen to reinforce the metaphor stated in the title, that the further down the chain of command you go, the fuzzier and more diffuse the responsibilities become ...

Nice take on the challenge with 10 dimes. I would have gone with more of a deep DOF.

The black fabric is a little distracting. Perhaps using a smooth black fabric would have been better?

I think this would look better if the full first dime were in focus. It gets pretty soft toward the top.
