This is my favourite texture picture for several reasons. There is a dominant S curve in the way the seashells are arranged which makes for awesome composition. There are several noticeable textures within the entire image. The lighting is well done and the DOF was well handled. The arrangement is kept simple and there is nothing complicating the image! Gets a 10 from me. BigSmiles

Nice looking shells. I find that the cloth they're sitting on to be a little distracting. I love the colors on the outside of the shells, It shows great texture. I give it an 8 Nswenson0

For those that are just learning, like me.
Composition: Scoring in this area is based on basic composition of a picture and includes the rule of thirds, balance, cropping, and curved and diagonal lines. Subject matter that does not lend itself to the picture or otherwise unwanted is also considered here.
Originality: Scoring in this area is based on pictures or concepts that I have seen, as well as how much effort you have invested in the picture. Usually a little something that sets it aside from a snapshot. Does it make me want to come back for another look? You know things like that.
Technical Aspects: Focus, exposure, lighting, and other special effects (done by the camera), and post processing are all considered in this category.
Meets Challenge: This is based on my interpretation of if you, have/have not, met the challenge. This is fairly simple but quite important for this site.
There are many sites that can give you assistance in achieving better skills in photography, but I think the best way to learn is to take pictures and show them to other people. Believe me when it is a good one you will know it.
The right parts are in focus - great example of an object with texture! I really like the shells themselves but I don't care for the composition. I don't associate a doyley with shells, even if the doyley has texture. Additionally, I'm distracted by the blue background.
These shells are beautiful. I like the positioning. I think that they might stand out better on their own without the fabric they are sitting on. Really nice idea.
how sweet. this is a great idea for texture, and a very nice execution. I love the transition of the curving lines and the warm/cold color contrast. most excellent.
