Better lighting would improve this shot. You've got nice, interesting subjects, and I can tell there are bright colors in there. But it needs more contrast and more light.
Nice compostion. The vase really should have flowers in it or it shouldn't be there. The lighting leaves this image looking flat. Wish I could tell you how to improve the lighting more.
though the colour is warm as expected in this setting I would have prefered something less absorbing so the background and forground would have more contrast
This isn't really "stationery." Also, the "technicals" of the shot leave much to be desired: The white-balance is off, camera-shake is apparent, and the angle is a bit dull. Sorry, but better luck next time.
