The first insects that came to mind when I thought of stationary were dragonflies and stickbugs..I don't have too many other types of animals to choose from...and I just so happened to come across a dragonfly while walking around my backyard. I don't have photoshop or anything fancy so I just re-sized the image. This is my first submission..I hope someone can help me become better. Thanks

I'm amazed at the tremendous amount of detail you captured in the wings. However, the catch light in the eyes draws my attention to that area and the focus is a little soft in the eyes for my taste.
It is a good picture, but I think it would do well with a closer crop. I assume the dragon fly is the subject (and if it focused well) but I feel distracted by all the lines in the background that, to me, take away from the dragonfly.
image is too big for what it shows : i would have cropped it a bit in order not to be diverted by branches around the insect. Sharpness is ok, background has slight over-saturation. What the hell is this insect ???
