Raw pic of my glass/mirror chessboard setup beside a green lightning plate and black backdrop.
A close tight shot with minimal "d.o.f" as possible.
POST:
using photoshop i increased the shadows, corrected contrast and brightness, increased color saturation to improve the green glow and a little sharpen all done in the raw interface.

Hi Rob,
This is a very nice shot. You have done well with the lighting and exposure and your post processing seems spot on. You have not overdone the editing.
I think that the overall score is dissapointing. Perhaps this is because the glass chess set is a popular choice in these challenges and although this is a great shot it offers not much that is new.
I think that this photo is a case of good but not quite there and could be improved a little.
I would maybe try a less cluttered scene, it has the appearance of being quite busy and the main problem for the viewer is the lack of a focal point. The overall scene seems to slope a little to the left which is a distraction. Maybe it's a personal thing but I would have liked to have seen this lit in blue. (Not sure why, just the green reminds me of Jello and blue would maybe feel more like glass)
Overall a great photo and good idea for the challenge.
Haha, as a chess lover, I can appreaciate this one. I like the green light. What I'm unsure about is what was supposed to be the main subject of this image.
