The sky was clouding over, which made this shot possible. My son is having way too much fun to pose. This shot really captures him...his little sister just finished jumping on him, and licking his head. He is killing himself...I love this shot, but hey I am his Dad. A great way to spend Father's Day!
The problem with being self-taught in photography...I simply don't know the terminology. No bokeh here...but I did think the background was blurred and helped by making the subject stand out more...

Great capture, nice focus and composition...but the background is not enhanceing the subject. This might have worked better as a color image for a bokeh challenge. Then we could have seen the play between say the color of the water and the color of his eyes if they were blue or green. Make sense?
I hope you've put this in a frame somewhere. It's a wonderful, fun capture of this young fella. I'm hard pressed to find any bokeh in this shot however. Don't worry...not voting, just browsing. ;^) Good luck.
