Beautiful tones and perfect depth of field to enhance the sense of sadness...as if tears were clouding one's view.

Rachel, HOW did I miss this!?!?!?! Amazing shot that should have placed much higher! Your choice of DOF was perfect. Damn, I wish I had a 2.8 in my line up now! How beautiful the dark side can be sometimes hu?

This was one of my favorites. Why didn't it place higher? I thought I would see it on the first page. I added to my favorites.

This is wonderful. If I were to guess, I'd say RKT. But to whoever you are, this is a great photograph, and well suited to the challenge.

Crisp, crisp detail in the flower head and the fade away focus in the withered petals looks awesome. Strong comp to boot! Hmmm...now if I could only figure out who created this masterpiece?

Love this shot, the colour and the very small DOP. Great photo.

NIce interpretation and symbolism in your photo. The tones used and the dead, dry texture imply desolation. Understated but powerful.

Interesting shot. I like the detail in the center of the flower. However I know the effect you were looking for here with the withering, but I would like to have seen the petals more in focus since they show the most withering effect. Good overall image, I like the black and white makes it more emotional. 8
