I am sorry but I don´t really get the thinking behind this image as it just doesn´t make sense to me compositionally. There is simply nothing in this image that I find interesting, there is simply nothing that draws my eye in and makes me want to linger over this. I realize you probably chose this place to photograph as there seem to be lights on the bridge wich I assume you didn´t want in the frame as they would be blown out but I would have strolled down the beach a small distance to the left and taken a shot of the pier from that vantage point, composing it similar to this shot ->
