 An old vine in our country cottage. The yellow/green background felt just right for this. At least for me, it enhances the textural nature of the subject.

This appears to be over-sharpened. It makes the background appear almost like a watercolor. While the effect on its own can be pleasing, it provides a jarring contrast to your subject.
