Thanks to my friend Brandon for holding that mammoth thing...he sprained his wrist, and later his jaw as he attempted to eat the beast. Second shot with the new Casio Z1000 also...makes good shots I guess.

I can't believe this won a ribbon. It's well composed (nice tight crop), well exposed, sharp, and definitely meets the challenge, but it's just kind of ugly, IMO. Not ribbon material, in my book. Sorry... just my opinion. Obviously the voters/commenters disagree with me.
Totaly agree with you Keith. Howard Johnson did make the best 3 D burger. This burger can't whole a candle to a 3 D!

I'm a little confused to see this got so many 10's.
Im a little confused to see this got so many 4's. Who and the world could give this a 4 or less. The contrasting colors, the focus, and meeting the definition of the challenge carries it well over a 4. Not to mention the uniqueness, DOF, and the composition. If I scored only 1 point for each of things I mentioned its at least a 6.
I personally think people can vote which ever way they choose, but it sort of begs the question who could possibly vote this a 1, 2, or 3.
Congrats, very nice interpretation of the challenge, and masterfully executed.
The photograph has good and pure colours, great focus and it has an artistic value. Maybe not traditional art but art it is.
The photograph meets the challenge 100% and that is what gives so many 10's.

It meets the challenge and the idea is cool but...
In my book, a 10 is at least aesthetically pleasant. This image meets the challenge, is well composed, obviously the colors and the details are there. BUT, the lighting sucks imo... and it's not pleasant to look at (unless you're the type of person who can't say no to one of these). I don't really see any real artistic value in this. So yeah, I'm fine with people that think this is a 9, but a 10? I don't get it.
I'm only saying this because I think this community is great and I beleive it's important that people vote with some common criterias as much as possible. It doesn't mean I have it right and others have it wrong. I might be the one that's wrong, but then I'd appreciate if we could talk about it. I'm all open for discussion.
Btw this has nothing to do with the photographer, I'm just voicing my thoughts about this image. Don't take this as a personal attack or jealousy because it's not.
Hey, wow! congratulations, this isn't your typical DPC ribbon winning type photo (by that, I mean no flowers, famous cities, or waterfalls, lol) sweet perspective too

Looking through the thumbnails, this is the image that really caught my eye. The saturation of colours is really overdone, but for this image it really works, and it matches so well the bright colour, plastic toy-like marketing image of fast food. Great crop. Well done.
thanks to the fact that I'm a vegetarian, this is un-appealing to me..
but it none the less meets the challenge!
great angle and composition.
now, where'd the salad!?
;)
