I arranged a textured bubble glass vase, half filled with assorted shells from my shell collection. I arranged this on a flat table, and placed my haligen spotlightlamp, in the front of the vase.
I then took a number of close-up images, and processed in photoshop. I sharpened, enhansed the colors, as well as a little bit of cloning, plus some dodge & burning, and reduced the noise, before adding a border.....
I am very pleased with this result, as it came out exactly as I wanted it to.....

Great background, shadow and the light in the shadow is wonderful Sherryl. I dare to disagree with the comenters and their average of 7.22, regardless of if it was meant or not the vase and shells are not sharply in focus. The big point loser for me is that the image is cropped too tightly, a centemetre or so on the top and left would (imho) add to the image. I didnt vote on this but it would have been a 5 from me :(
Challenge: SHADOWS III
Description: Creatively capture a shadow Advanced Edit
Reflective Light
Fit: Epitomises the idea behind the challenge 2
This is a very creative capture of a very complex shadow
Aesthetics: An exceptional composition/exceptional aesthetics 3
This is a really well balanced and harmonius composition to me. The parallelism in the vase and shadow, the ellipse captures at the union of th two and the softness of the background compliment the colours and the shadow dynamics.
Technical: Technically well executed 2
Maybe - just maybe - a little more DOF as the neck of the vase seems a little out focus?
Wow: Slaps you in face 3
There is just so much to like about this image.
