This is the same zoo where I captured my "The Stare Down" shot last summer. The tigers were not cooperative, but this beautiful lioness got up and came closer, as if to say "ok, take my picture." So I did what I had done before, and made sure nobody was watching and I crawled over the barricade to get the lens through the fence. She stared at me for sometimes, and slowly got up to see what I was doing, so I backed away. They are used to humans, as this is a rescue zoo.
Very close in scoring, Judy. I actually like them both - if I had to pick, I would choose this one for the smoother overall color if that makes sense. Very well done though! :)
It's obvious to see why whenever an 'animal challege' or something similar appears lions and tigers fill up most of the entries.
They are amazing creatures and this shot captures one in a moment of relaxing.
