This is a pretty cool shot and a good idea - good focus - nice placement and I like the shadow. I think on a different background (maybe a solid color) and slightly less light this one would stand out more and score higher (in my opinion anyway).

I love the composition, the shadow, and, of course, the little wriggler! The black in the top left is a little dark maybe, but an awesome shot.
