went to montreal for a long weekend ... and what photo is my favorite? a butterfly. oh well, guess there's my favorite type of photography coming through. :)

Wow! (again!) This is just so totally intense. The color is so vibrant and the details are fabulous! If this isn't one of my favs already, it will be soon!
thank you to all those who were able to look past the fact that this is 'just a bug photo' and gave me some great comments. to responde to some of them: the background was that color (plants) with sunlight poking through, hence the hotspots. the cocoons were attached to hanging ropes, hence the butterfly was actually this way up. i took a lot of photos in the butterfly house that weekend, they can be seen at //www.langpage.com/2002montreal/botanicalgarden.html
This is a fairly good shot of the moth, but the image seems to have a graininess to it. I didn't like the background color. I don't suppose you could have made this guy do any tricks? :)~
Nifty. what a great capture! I love the patterns and the colors - great DOF! Awesome show of texture too ;) wish the body was just a tad crisper...great job though. 8 cthenk
This has such a beautiful texture and pattern to it. Come to think of it...this would be good for this coming weeks challenge. I'm not sure how I feel about the angle.
