WOW, thanks again everybody. My first 7 and thank you Jesus for everything you do for us and have done for us!
Setup:
Outdoor Light
A railroad tie I used from a friend
A black cloth or any type of black material under the railroad tie.
A bolt I bought from lowe's (the biggest bolt they had) Cut the top of the bolt off! (which that took the longest)
In order to get my hands to look old and dirty I used Motor oil. Valvoline is what I used b/c I work for them, lol. After the motor oil I rubbed my hands through the dirt. Getting fun now!
Next, I used a piece of wire to push the bolt down on my hand to make it look like its going through. Thanks to my wife on that part!
Thats about it, turn to black and white, dodge and burn a little.

Hello, I really like your picture. It gives me lots of spiritual thoughts..
I am running online shopping mall in South Korea which sells phone cases and t-shirts.
All of the designs have meaning of god and are made to spread good new.
And I really like to use this photo to make convey the meaning of christ by making a phone case in south Korea. Would you remain comments about the possibilities of using your image??

Hello,
I really love your image of Golgotha. I am involved in a production of Godspell the musical. We are doing a multimedia take on the show, and would love to use your image to convey the image of Christ. Would you consider emailing me about the possibilities of using your beautiful photograph in the show, as I would not feel right using it without your permission.
Write me back for contact information and such!
Thank-you,
Jamie Hurcomb
Thanks for commenting on my pic, just noticed this one and I really like the creative workflow you thought out to achieve this picture. Not only did the composition come out great, but so did the PP, well deserved (even if I'm a little late on the comment ;) )!
Great job Phil - Top 5, your first 7, but most importantly you have the image you want on your highest rated pics for a long time to come. Congrats and He is risen!!!
Sheesh. I'm not sure which is better. Both of them are great shots! The other one is a bit darker though from what I recall but this one has great textures as well. It'll be a toss up. (7)
Another very strong image. The addition of the bolt adds alot although I think your post processing in the first was a bit stronger. Great work Phil. I hope to see this in your top rated pic profile. And a bump...
this photo literally stopped me in my tracks...very moving photo. wow...
i'm speachless. The only thing that i see that could even be considered nitpicking is the blood from the wound is running to the left, not down how the picture portrays, but you know what, it's still such an incredible pic who cares. 10. if the scale went to 13 you'd get that.
Very very powerful processing. My only nit is the angle, which is not what would be expected of this. It would normally be horizontal on the cross, no?
I loved the first one and this one is even better. Outstanding and powerful work. I can't imagine what it was like to even take this shot or create this scene... Not sure I could do it. 10
Back to comment....this is very cool - feels darker in general than the original. I like the bolt & the heavy blood - good ideas. The skin looks so leathery - like it's not even real - it makes me want to touch it. Nice job.
There was a great article many years ago in the JAMA, I believe, about the physiology of crucifixion. The ropes, in your case here, are important, because without them the hands would rip and the body would fall. Otherwise they nailed the victim through the wrist between the two arm bones. I'll have to hunt the original of this down and see. I like your PP a lot. Powerful image to those of us who believe, perhaps unappealing to the rest. 8
