A tribute to "Hann", to his entry 'My Hand' in the first 'Light Source' Challenge in October 2002. Hann has only entered one challenge and yet takes the basement cake for the lowest score in DPC history! Truly inspired!
'Mudpuddle'is a photo of an actual mudpuddle in our gravel driveway with a reflection of a Hemlock tree branch in the photo. I P/S'ed this photo until the thing was nearly unrecognizable. Why one might ask? Weird sense of humor I suppose. I also have strange hopes of returning to the Bottom Ten List of DPC, taking up residence in the cellar of cellars, with one of the ten lowest DPC scores of all time.
In advance, I extend my thanks to everyone who gave this a 1.

If it was any larger than it is, the page would probably explode. : )
The cool thing about this image is that there is almost nothing in it to latch on to, but I tend to keep looking, expecting something to be there. That's a connection, and an interesting one because it is so different from the ordinary "subject in your face" shots.
LOL. Well, your image made me look at your profile and see your other photographs, so that's a good thing - especially as you have some wonderful pics in your portfolio. :-D
Spectacular goal setting and execution of the goal. Congrats on your ribbon and on further review, i should have given a 1 instead of a 2 because your title was not punctuated and it was incomplete. :)
You've probably received these types of comments already, but just in case:
Smaller pictures don't do well here - your max size is 640 pixels, and it is helpful to use all of that so that people can see the details of your image. Also, your photo looks very bright, and it is hard to tell what is what.
After the challenge, would you explain this shot? I see no effort to produce a shot that would be able to compete in a topic designed for an artificial light source.
you should try to use the full size available to you, as it makes the image more eye-friendly. that being said, there isn't much to see here, as most of the image is overexposed.
I basically can't see anything here. I could comment on the size, but it's almost not relevant given the image, which is almost completely white. Maybe I'm missing something profound. I'm looking forward to reading your comments after the challenge finishes.
Congratulations, I think you'll win the Brown Ribbon with this. One of the things you might like to study up on is how to adjust the compression of a JPEG file so that you can make the longest side of your image 640pixels and still be under the 150 maqximum file size. At 240x180 pixels any image is just too small to be viewed
you should use the max number of pixels allowed. and i have absolutly nothing here on this i had to check the brightness meter at the bottom my screen to make sure my monitor was displaying correctly.
Without the novel, errr.. essay, ummm.. title, I'd have no clue what I was looking at. After reading it, I'd say this photo fails to meet the challenge as well as be a successful photograph in general.
I sincerly hope that this wins the lowest score ever on DPChallenge. Good luck on getting the ultimate brown, this is one of the best attempts I've ever seen. You must have absorbed charliebaker's How to Win the Brown. The best 1 I've ever given.
