 This is my first submission with my new camera. I had planned on darkening the background, but I like the grainy look of it and submitted the photo without any editing or
touch-up.

You may have used only one light source, but it is so evenly distributed that it loses the drama of only having one light.

Too flat. Doesn't benefit from the lighting (which could, for instance, make the texture of the bread stand out.

i understand that this image fits the competition, however it lacks great creativity. the overal image is rather dull and has little visual interest. next time try a couple different things, such as:
a close up of the peanut butter being spread on the bread
the actual peanut butter jar inbetween the slices of bread

be creative, it is to your advantage

Good concept. I would have put some peanut butter on the bread. The lighting is flat and uninteresting.

Good pic, though not enough light concentrated on your main subject. Good job though :)
