My first attempt at using a home made light diffuser - taken in direct sunlight, subject on white card as the background, all contained in a white plastic bag on a deck chair. It has negative space, whether or not it will score well I don't know.

I have taken a similar shot to this myself [//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=5494]. From the shadows on your shot it looks like you have the sun/light behind the subject, I think it may have helped to have the sun behind the camera to reflect more light off the fleshy part of the frut to give it more colour and contrast.
