After chasing him around for days, trying to get some decent photos, this little guy and I finally struck a bargain. He agreed to pose for me occasionally if I keep him and his buddies supplied with food.
It's amazing how much food a few hummingbirds can put away in a single day. They're even worse than teenagers. They never stop eating!
This is an excellent image! Love all the colors and the details of the hummingbird. DOF is great too. The one thing I would lose is the heavy border - it really is distracting.
wow, you probably could have scored really well in the bokeh challenge with a shot like this... I have to agree with everyone else here in that your colors are superb and the DOF is perfect, I love how you got such sharp detail on the bird and then the foreground and background are blended so well, also, your border even compliments the photo... dreamlike, not to mention his expression looks so majestic.... this one's going into my favs
It's funny to read that Jutilda said "Wow" outloud. I saw this and said "Damnnn"! I think that's a good thing when your image invokes verbal exclamations. This is so perfect it's hard to believe it's real. Amazing!

I'm not generally a humongonoid fan of wee little birdie macro-type shots, but this is so amazing that it's going straight into my favs.
