This was my concept for DPC Cinema, but I ran out of time. I got a second chance with Self-Portrait and applied what I learned from my first try.
To get the glowing eye, I wrapped an LED light with black paper and electrical tape. I cut a hole in the paper and backed the inside with green metallic foil on the back and clear film on the front. Then I drew in the pupil with a black pen on the clear film.
Lit from the side with a monolight bounced off a far wall and a little floodlight on the floor behind me. I put black cloth on the wall behind me and to the left to keep that side dark.
Processing: Convert from RAW, levels, Noise Ninja, burn & dodge, USM, HSL, slight cloning and liquify around the green eye.
OK, so it was a neat trick, but a baaaaaad idea for Self Portrait. Once I missed DPC Cinema, I should have let it die. :-/

Nice pic. I think the biggest drawback for me is that it doesn't look like the eyes are level.. The one on the left looks slightly down from where it should be...
One of my faves from the challenge. It reminded me of X-Men III which is coming out soon!
145 out of 235 ....? Unbelievable. This is another one of those which deserved better. There are too many good photos in this challenge but this still needs to be amongst top 10%. It is even technically well executed.
I would have scored this shot much higher if one thing were corrected - the placement of the green eye. It's much to low and close to the nose so it appears unnatural. OK, so a green glowing eye isn't supposed to be natural, but I hope you get my meaning. ;)
sorry I gotta say it. you needed a dark cape and some war paint to match your eye. I think this detracts from what otherwize would be a very nice self portrait.
So, this is how you see yourself? Which side is the photog side and which side is the SC side? Maybe they are not so deliniated. To your credit, this is a striking portrait that is unsettling without being disturbing. It makes me stop and take the time to comment...and the only complaint I have is that it looks like your dark half is slightly off from where it should be located - only ever so slightly, but that is just my eye, yours is most certainly better.
