this is soooo beautiful!! i love the black and white and i think you've done some pretty good work with the post processing. i think i would have gotten the full body of the puppy and girl in the frame.

Great shot! I would imagine it would look swell in color too.

Pretty good, but your dodging and burning are not exactly subtlely done, and to my eye make the image just look like it has dark blotches across it. I don't think you've taken the highlights far enough really - the tonality seems really quite grey to me. More contrast throughout the two figures would really add a sense of depth to it, and more detail, and there is certainly room for that without blowing the highlights.

Well done on the lighting and the DOF. A very warm and appealling image.

Well posed and composed portrait, but the burning is much too obvious for my taste

if you used the burning technique it appears to be uneven in spots. good luck!

I'd like to see more of her "farm" environment ... maybe a barn or tractor ..

Wonderful black and white portrait. Great use of rule of thirds. She has a wonderful smile that shines through the overcast sky.

Nice pose, clarity and background. I think the photo would be more expressive if the girl and dog were looking at each other.

Lovely shot and fits the challenge well, I think. Beautiful girl and dog and they're both looking right at you which invites the viewer's attention.
