This flower is from a "pup" given to us by my sister about 20 years ago. It will die after this bloom fades in a few weeks. There is already a new pup on this plant and it should bloom in a couple of years. Hopefully, we can pass on new pups to the next generation in our family.
This was shot in the "studio" with two 500w lights with umbrellas.
Set the background to black-black in Curves and did a global contrast adjustment with USM 20/50/0.

The flower bud has a nice, sharp image. Very effective use of negative space. The black background really brings out the colors of this flower. Well done!
