OMG!! I loooooove your work, I'm finally starting to get more into DP, I sure appreciate all your comments J!! I had to get rid of a few other photo sites just to catch up on others, I SURE love your work my friend!!
Such a great self portrait. You've got that great hollywood feel; but you, the artist, being the subject; you're just staring right at the viewer; right through the viewer. Youv'e got all that skin showing and you cut it off just as low as you can; this is interesting, quirky, and probably could have placed a bit higher.
Perfectly lit.
Really nice black and white photo and noting what you mean about not being right in the middle of the frame - looks great and works well !
Terrific shot - a bit underrated I say - though I think you should crop about a centimetre off the bottom so that the image starts just below your collarbone.
The pom pom hair and shoulders were an especially nice touch. I really liked the drama of this shot. One of my favs of you. One of those pics that stays in your mind for awhile after viewing. Good job!
What a bold and powerful self portrayal. I love your off centred and simple approach and think you really captured a great self portrait worthy of a very high placement. Very well done! 9
A primer for absolute essentials of feminine style.
Shown here is a glimpse of something living inside women & and to an extent all of us.
The basic timeless female expressions - adornment, hair, eyes, allure of body - universal but unique and presented as a legacy (title is perfect) in the form of a portrait.
J's expression is unlikely to be guarded or defensive (which seems to be hinted at) of a past which is perfectly intrepreted & shown, never ashamed..... never faded, always in bloom. This is MAGNIFICENT - erotically charged - mysterious & cool.
Ah! There she is!...you have so hit the Vogue 1969 vibe and I got a massive collection of vintage Vogues and Harpers Bazaars in my closet if anyone cares to think otherwise...fab work J!
Great image. Were you a model? Look that those cheek bones. Well back to the image. Artistically I think you hit the mark spot on. I like that the catch lights are very small. Large ones may have taken away from the dark nature of the photo. My only criticism is that I would have liked the eyes tac sharp. However after trying at nauseum to do a similar image I know how difficult that is. Great job. One of my favs of the challenge.
This is AWESOME! I never cease to be amazed at how fun you are able to make portraits of yourself and others. This is fun -- but also very striking and professionally done! FANTASTIC job! Easy 10 :)
Judy you rock girl! You always give everything to your photos and it shows. I love your use of negative space. I do feel like this could be circa 1969, although I wasn't born yet! Beautiful shot of a beautiful woman.
