Shot on the beach early in the morning. This was part of a snag that I shot by lying on the beach and aiming the camera at the sky.
I chose this shot for desolation because often when I'm hurt or lonely I walk the beach and, living in Western Washington, it's often overcast and dreary or dark and foreboding...matching my feelings of desolation (lonliness and sadness).

I like the subject, but I think that is should have probably been a little higher and farther in the picture. I think the choice to keep it in color was a good one too.
