I spent an afternoon trying to catch macros of bees as I've seen on DP but to be honest this looked far more appealing. Shot on macro with my s602, levelled, sharpened (though to be honest I was lucky to get the drop very sharp anyway).

I don't think the background is very good for this photo. I think that it's pretty good, but could really move up a couple notches if the background were less busy.
beautiful shot! love the dof and color. IMO this isn't exactly an example of negative space because the background is so primary.. more like a second subject. Anyway, it's still a lot better than most of these pics.
