Shot on day 1 of the British Superbike meeting at Oulton Park, at which Cal Crutchlow set a new lap record of 1:38.961 in Free Practice for the British Supersport Championship.
Post Challenge: Cool. The neat thing about this result is that I didn't just pick my best shot of the day, I picked the story and then found a shot to go with it.
Lots of comments on the crop. Here's the wide version ...
Personally I think the tight crop is better suited to a headline image or front page, the wider shot doesn't carry the same impact. And if anybody feels cheated that I cropped so heavily, here's one at full frame to prove I can : ) ...
My first attempt at bikes certainly won't be my last. I had a blast.
Congrats on a great capture. Much as I like the tight crop though, I have to say I find the wider shot even better as the motion panning is far more pronounced and gives a greater impression of speed. Well done.
Your first attempt at motorbike photography? OMG, I can't wait to see the other attempts. Great work! Congrats with your ribbon on one of my top picks.
very well done...would have preferred a more compelling title, seeing that the title was part of the challenge, but this is one of the best of these kind of shots I have seen...you should be proud od this 9
Normally I don't mind borders but I think you might have been served better if you omitted it for this challenge. As for the photo that's a hell of a shot! I love the motion blur at the top and right. Also, I find it really interesting the number of sponsorships depicted in this photo.
Nice, sharp photo, good colors. I personally think I would like the see the entire bike within the frame, although that may just be a personal thing, since the close crop seems to work well here.
I could fill pages with everything I like about this shot. crisp and a great capture. Bikes a little dark. (maybe a midtone adjustment would've changed this but thats my personal taste)Crop's a little tight (would've liked to see the whole bike). Still a great photo!
OMG, which magazines am I going to see this in? This is top-quality work. 10! BTW, I bet Honda would be interested in this shot for thier marketing and PR.
