The dog's right ear is partly out of the picture (IMHO bad) and his leg on the right shouldn't be on the picture I think.

I'm sure he's feeling poorly but the image just looks like a dog lazing about as dogs do and just doesn't say challenge topic at all to me.

Doesn't look like a happy camper. Hope he/she gets well. I might have tried cropping in on the head a little closer (taking the rear paw out of the photo) and getting more focus on the nose and whiskers.

I'm sorry the poor thing is ill, but the photo doesn't really have any impact. It feels too much like a snapshop that anyone might take of a pet instead of being something to be artistically interpreted.
