Wow, really fun picture. Would it have been possible to get more squarely on to the window instead of off to the side? Or maybe to have straightened things up a bit in an editing program? Love the little girl's (?) hands up against the glass. Wish the other child's head wasn't being blocked by the rail. Nice timing as the one seal was banking and flippers outstretched.
Cute shot. I'm not sure if this works (don't have time to try it now), but you can also add interest sometimes by making the water level and the children angled to change the perspective a bit (just a thought).
It needs better framing. Cut out the top of the imge, bar at the bottom. Story is about girl and seal, focus on them. COlor of the water is great - it should fill out whole background.
You could run some filters on this and make it look like one of those "island paintings" which are so popular on greeting cards. I'd try and lose some of the reflection on the right though.
sorry, but this looks rather like a snapshot to me. the rails going through the little boy's head, the reflection, and the sloping horizon (see the water). i know some of these things are either hard to control or out of your control altogether. -- gr8photos (3)
Nice shot. Wish there was a curtain on the doorway, don't you? I have tried this shot a number of times, this is the best I have ever seen. This is harder than it looks! 8 Swash
I almost think getting just the child on the left with the hands on the aquarium and one of the seals (?) would have made a more interesting picture. Good shot to be in low-light though. And excellent at keeping the reflection to a minimum. karmat
Maybe this would look better if you got up close behind the girl on the left instead of a wider shot. That would also help get rid of the reflection on the right side of the glass.
This is a nice capture of two "cultures" (if you will) trying to communicate. I would suggest, however, to get down on the floor more, and shoot under the top railing, as it cuts off the subjects. With the glow in the tank, there was a good chance here of getting the kids in silouette. The arrangement of the seals to the kids was timed perfectly - it takes my eye in a circle from the top right seal, to the middle, bottom, girl - then almost to the boy (if it weren't for that rail!) Keep shooting!
this is a fun photo :) This type of photo is not easy to do with the glass reflections... the banister in the lower portion of the image is a little distracting... = 5 - jmsetzler
