Thank you for the feedback. I didn't expect the picture to do very well because I thought that there were other subjects that fit the challenge better, but at the time I was in the Gambia for work, and I took this picture while I was there. I like the picture, and I wanted some feedback on composition etc., which you have provided, so thanks again. This is my first picture submitted on DP challenge and I would like to start submitting regularly. I don't know the first thing about photoshop editing :( so that is one thing I have to start learning about.
Very nice picture. The photo is a little dark, but the content is awesome. I wonder if you could lighten this up a little using a levels adjustment layer in photoshop. Maybe you were going for the dark look. Anyway, nice going.
I think the pastel colors in the background sort of detract from the 'old' look you were going for. This was an advanced editing challenge, so you might have done well to reduce the vibrancy of the colors (it's mainly the teal on top of the two towers). Other than that, this is definitely something old. Good shot.
